RX3 3000 Plate Loaded Smith Machine Rack

This unit is for those who want a lat pulldown, low row, and functional trainer that can also perform as a half rack and smith machine with storage capabilities, all while being able to switch from 2:1 weight ratio to 1:1 weight ratio quickly on the cable system (Click here for more information on pulley ratios). The 3"x3" uprights and crossbars also allows for extra modularity and attachment options from a larger ecosystem. Further, because of our 93" height, this unit is tall enough to accommodate a seated lat pulldown with full range of motion. The 2 handle design makes this unit extremely versatile as you can perform 1-handed exercises as well as 2-handed exercises in one, space-saving unit. The included smith machine is not just for safety with its self-spotting capabilities, it's also an excellent tool for totally fatiguing muscles from only one angle, thus tapping into the same set of motor units on every rep without fail. Without needing to engage multiple muscle groups to maintain balance and posture like with free weights, you can push more weight while focused on growing a specific targeted muscle. 2 front posts with j-cups included allows you to rack your barbell for benching and squatting if you do want to train those stabilizer muscles with more freedom of movement.

4 handle options gives you the ability to choose from doing 2:1 or 1:1 weight ratio per handle. Most racks setups have only 1 handle on each side and are either a 2:1 ratio or 1:1 ratio that cannot be changed. For 2:1 ratio racks, you don't have enough weight to do lat pulls, low rows, or belt squats from each upright. For 1:1 ratio racks, it's too heavy to jump 10LBs per handle when doing chest flys and many other exercises, such as cable Y raises or face pulls. You may also not have the needed cable travel since 1:1 cable travel is half the distance of 2:1 ratio cable travel. The RX3 Smith Machine allows you to prioritize safety, simplicity, gradual strength progression, and better isolation of targeted muscles compared to free weights. The predictability of the bar's path makes it an excellent tool for breaking down and totally fatiguing muscles from one angle, thus tapping into the same set of motor units on every rep without fail. Without needing to engage multiple muscle groups to maintain balance and posture like with free weights, you can push more weight while focused on growing a specific targeted muscle.

This unit is 3"x3" with 1" holes and 2" spacing, so there's are a wide variety of attachments from us and others available for this specification. We recommend using the following attachments: spotter arms, lat pull down seat, adjustable foot plate, FT Cable Output Adapter.

For storage options built into the rack, we recommend:
- Up to 8x plate sleeves with up to 4x shelf extensions
- Up to 4 total shelves consisting of either 42" ball and plate shelf extension or 42" kettlebell and dumbbell shelf extension.

The low point on the RX3 Smith Machine can be adjusted based on your setup and assembly. The first solution to gain more depth is to stand on bumper plates or any elevated platform. This is the most common solution for smith machines that are attached to a rack's crossbar or front feet extensions. You can also choose to remove the included spring and/or smith stopper during assembly which lowers the low point without needing to stand on anything.
