RX3 Tornado Smith Machine Rack

The RX3 Tornado Smith Machine Rack is for those that want an all-in-one unit that combines a smith machine, Tornado pivot arms functional trainer cable machine, and squat rack into one space-saving unit. The perfect centerpiece for your home gym or commercial gym, this all-in-one squat rack was designed to give you the most effective cable machine possible.

The RX3 Tornado Pivot Arms offer greater versatility and more effective muscle targeting compared to traditional cable machines and functional trainers, since you can position the cable pulley anywhere. Position the cable system outwards at up to 81" apart for greater stretch for chest flys like traditional cable crossovers, or angle the tornado pivot arms inwards at shoulder width for deadlifts and shrugs with the cable handles directly beneath you.
Exercises and effectiveness previously impossible with fixed cable machine trolleys are now accessible with our Tornado Pivot Arms. The included smith machine is not just for safety with its self-spotting capabilities, it's also an excellent tool for totally fatiguing muscles from only one angle, thus tapping into the same set of motor units on every rep without fail.

Without needing to engage multiple muscle groups to maintain balance and posture like with free weights, you can push more weight while focused on growing a specific targeted muscle. 2 front posts with j-cups included allows you to utilize this as a squat rack for benching and squatting if you do want to train those stabilizer muscles with more freedom of movement.

You can position our cables anywhere. Directly above you for lat pulls, directly below you for deadlift, outwards for greater stretch during chest flys (cable crossover), or close together to join them in order to utilize both 200LB weight stacks. The position of the Tornado Pivot Arms allows you to more effectively train your targeted muscle group and you are no longer limited by a fixed trolley like on traditional cable systems.

The RX3 Smith Machine allows you to prioritize safety, simplicity, gradual strength progression, and better isolation of targeted muscles compared to free weights. The predictability of the bar's path makes it an excellent tool for breaking down and totally fatiguing muscles from one angle, thus tapping into the same set of motor units on every rep without fail. This unit is 3"x3" with 1" holes and 2" spacing, so there's are a wide variety of attachments from us and others available for this specification. For storage options built into the rack, we recommend:
- Up to 8x plate sleeves
- Up to 4 total shelves consisting of either 42" ball and plate shelf or 42" kettlebell and dumbbell shelf.

The RX3 Tornado Smith Machine Rack does not need to be bolted into the ground, but we always recommend doing so for additional safety and liability.

We recommend using our Weight Stack Plate Load Pin. Simply stick the Weight Stack Plate Load Pin into the weight stack and add extra weight using any olympic sized plate.

The RX3 Smith Machine now offers one of the lowest starting points in the industry. At its lowest point, the Smith Machine sits only 6.8" higher than a loaded barbell, allowing you to perform deadlifts, Romanian deadlifts (RDLs), and other lifts with nearly the same depth and feel as free weights. To maximize your range of motion (ROM), simply remove the new safety stopper. It works just like a J-cup, allowing you to perform deadlifts, Romanian deadlifts, and other lifts with the same depth and control as free weights. Keep it on when you want extra safety during heavy sets, or remove it when you want full freedom of movement.

There's an option to adjust to our shorter, 86" Rack model by checking the box above the Add To Cart button if your ceiling is lower than 94". If your ceiling is greater than 94", we always recommend fitting the tallest rack available that your ceiling can allow. The pull-up bar can be adjusted downwards anywhere along the upright if you want to have more clearance for your head when doing pullups.

Tornado Trolley 2.0 is our newest and most refined trolley design, now included standard with all RX3 Tornado Racks. It features 4 built-in rollers per Tornado Arm, a redesigned, tighter-tolerance housing for smoother travel along the uprights, and an updated grooved front roller that improves cable tracking during movement. This grooved roller helps keep the cable aligned more consistently, reducing friction and delivering a smoother, more controlled feel throughout the range of motion. The trolley also includes a protection bracket that prevents the rollers from making contact with rack bolts or crossmembers during adjustments. With the Tornado Trolley 2.0 now included with every new RX3 Tornado Rack, you get the smoothest glide, easiest adjustments, and most premium movement experience available on the Tornado Arms.

Tornado X Arms are our most versatile Tornado Arm configuration, giving you access to 2:1 and 1:1 weight ratios in a single system — plus the ability to combine both pull points for up to 300 lb of resistance from a 200 lb weight stack. Use 2:1 mode for smoother cable movement, longer cable travel, 5 lb weight increments, and explosive exercises. For heavier movements such as lat pulldowns and low rows above 100 lbs, both arms can be connected together at the center.
Switch to 1:1 mode to unlock the full weight stack for exercises like lat pulldowns, low rows, belt squats, and other heavy pulling movements.

Tornado X allows the 1:1 and 2:1 pull points to be connected together, creating a 1:1.5 cable ratio. With a 200 lb weight stack, this configuration provides up to 300 lb of effective resistance from a single stack, giving you more resistance for heavy rows, belt squats, presses, and other strength-focused movements without increasing the size of your weight stack.

The Tornado X upgrade also introduces a True-Center Line of Pull, helping keep movements symmetrical and balanced throughout the entire range of motion. Its updated arm design further improves cable tracking and cable smoothness compared to previous Tornado Arm configurations.

Unlike designs that can freely rotate and cause cable twisting, Tornado X Arms are self-righting, automatically returning to their proper position when the cable is released. This helps maintain smooth operation, improves consistency between reps, and reduces unwanted cable twist during training.
